Best Will in the World Week

My Legacy is a joint initiative of over 60 Irish Charities who have come together to raise awareness of the importance of making a Will and leaving a Legacy to your favourite charity within your Will.

Sightsavers is proud to be a member of My Legacy and delighted to support the upcoming "Best Will in the World Week " which will take place from Monday 17th to Friday 21st of October 2011.

The "Best Will in the World" campaign is encouraging members of the public to visit a local participating solicitor to have a will drawn up or changed and to consider leaving a legacy to their favourite charity.

At the Launch of the campaign, Mr. David Bell, aged 91 and pictured above, the oldest practising solicitor in Ireland from Moriarty & Company, Anglesea Street, D2 said "The country might be in a grip of an economic crisis but Irish people are still amongst the most charitable in the world. Leaving a legacy whether it is your entire estate or a modest sum to benefit others after you have gone, can be a wonderfully rewarding experience."

During this week, you can get professional, impartial advice on your Will for just €50, while also helping a favourite charity after you are gone. Leaving a legacy is a simple, wonderfully fulfilling experience and anyone can do it. It does not matter how big or small the gift is - all contributions will make a lasting difference.
