Working with our partners in 2009, we helped to:
- Screen 13,358,000 people
- Treat over 9.8 million people for potentially blinding conditions
- Protect 21,796,685 people against river blindness
- Carry out 273,061 sight-restoring cataract operations
- Treat 990,798 people for trachoma
- Train 150,000 eye care workers
- Provide training and support to 7,274 people who are irreversibly blind
- Provided specialist support to 5,919 children in mainstream schools
