Fundraise at work
Staff fundraising is about bringing some fun and a challenge to your workplace whilst raising funds for a worthy cause. It could take the form of anything from a quiz night in a local pub to encouraging staff to take part in a larger national charitable event, like the Women's Mini Marathon, by providing time off and matching any funds raised.
It's not just a great way to build team spirit and improve morale but also allows your employees to help make a difference - with the support of their employer. Often companies will match any fund money raised through staff fundraising activities, so check with your HR or Community Team whether they do.
You could hold a collection or organise a sponsored event, have a dress down day, hold a cake raffle, whatever you like. The big earners are quite often the simplest of ideas!
Sightsavers is an incredibly emotive cause to fundraise for, imagine for every €20 raised we could restore the sight of someone blinded by cataract in the developing world. So do bear us in mind should you have a Charity of the Year programme
We're also here to support you, so if you've got the energy but are stuck for ideas, please do get in touch and we'll be happy to assist. We have a selection of fundraising materials that could help interest your colleagues, so just ask. To find out more or get advice on how to generate funds e-mail us at fundraising@sightsavers.ie
