In Memory Giving

Tribute funds

Please accept our condolences if you have recently lost a loved one. Sightsavers is extremely grateful to you for considering us at this difficult time.

Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a way to celebrate their life and to make a lasting difference to the lives of others. Your donation will help Sightsavers achieve our vision of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes and where visually impaired people participate equally in society.

If you would like to make a gift In Memory of someone special you can do so by downloading our In Memory Giving form and sending it to us with your donation.

There are many different ways you can give In Memory from a Tribute Fund, that can continue growing in your loved ones name, to a single gift. Many families and friends have chosen to collect for Sightsavers instead of flowers at a funeral or memorial service. However small or large the gift, it really will make a difference.

Credit or debit card donations can also be made by calling us on (01) 663 7666

No matter how small or large your gift we will ensure it is used wisely in memory of your loved one.

A gift in memory in lieu of flowers

When someone dies, we often give flowers, but many families and friends suggest that donations in memory be sent to a charity their loved one supported during their life. If this is something you are considering, you might include the following wording in the death notice:

Donations in lieu of flowers to: Sightsavers, 70 Georges Street Upper, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, Ireland.

Alternatively you can arrange a gift in memory through the funeral director.

When you make a donation in memory, we will send you a special card so you can include your own personal message, and then send it on to the loved ones of the deceased.

Funeral collections

If you are arranging a funeral or memorial service and wish to make a collection for Sightsavers, we can provide you with support materials that can be handed out or left on seats at the service. Most funeral directors will be happy to assist with this and we can send information directly to them.

Please email Sarah Finlay at info@sightsavers.ie if you would like to support Sightsavers in this way.

For funeral directors. If you are arranging a collection at one of your services please can you ensure that cheques are made payable to Sightsavers International. We will be happy to supply you with any support materials to assist with the collection.

Collections should be forwarded to, Sightsavers, Freepost, 70, Georges Street Upper, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, Ireland.
