Recycling for Sightsavers

Mobile phone recycling

Join our mobile phone recycling appeal and help Sightsavers and the environment at the same time!
Sightsavers has joined forces with one of Ireland's biggest recycling companies, BPI to raise money to help people in some of the world's poorest countries. By recycling your mobile phones, you can help make a real difference.

If you would like to send in an old mobile you no longer use please call lo-call 1850 50 20 20 to request a freepost recycling bag or email: info@sightsavers.ie

How much is donated per phone?

Every time someone donates a phone in Sightsavers' name, we get 50% of the value of the phone.

What happens to the mobile phones and cartridges once they're donated?

Most mobiles received are repaired and sold on as working phones. Those that can't be repaired are sent to a recycling partner, to have all precious metals extracted. Any remaining materials are smelted for energy recovery.
