Street & Church collections

Collections are a great way to raise funds for Sightsavers and are very easy to organize.

Getting started

Before you begin collecting in any public place, you have to get a permit from the Gardaí. To collect money outside church gates, permission must also be obtained from the parish priest. Don't worry though - permits from the Gardaí are simple to get, just call into your local Garda station and explain to them what you plan to do, there should be no problem.

Once you've decided to do a collection and the relevant permissions have been obtained, contact us and we will send you out everything you will need, such as collection boxes, t-shirts, Sightsavers marketing material, etc.
