February 2010

The talent and creativity displayed by all the children who entered made this a very hard competition to judge. Niamh Sharkey, author and illustrator of children's books, and Aidan Dunne, art critic from the Irish Times, were among the panel of judges who spent hours deliberating over all the wonderful paintings. Eventually (and after much heated debate!) they narrowed it down to 12 regional winners with 3 paintings being nominated for a commendation. Four overall national winners were announced at an Awards Ceremony on the 9th of February at Airfield. Click here to view the winning paintings.
All 15 paintings will be on display in Airfield House and schools, parents and families are welcome to go along, view the paintings and see what some of Ireland's youngest talent have to offer!
