Make a free will online with Sightsavers

Our partnership with LawOnline enables you to create or amend your will from the comfort of your own home.

Sightsavers has partnered with LawOnline to offer you a free, confidential and secure will-writing service.

It allows you to choose whether to amend an existing will or create a new will online, all from the comfort of your home.

We would be delighted to help you with this free and innovative online service. And while there is no onus to leave a gift to Sightsavers in your will, any gift in your will – large or small – would be helping those at risk of sight loss and would mean so much to all here at Sightsavers.

Watch the video below for more information about the service, them scroll down to find out how to take part.

  2. Choose whether you want to make a new will or amend an existing will, then decide what type of will you want. See the box on this page titled ‘Choose your will’, and click on the option that matches your chosen will. Alternatively, go to www.lawonline.ie , choose Personal from the top bar and scroll down to choose the type of will you want.
  3. Click the ‘Add to basket’ option next to your chosen will. Note that a price for each type of will is displayed on the website, but if you use the free voucher code supplied by Sightsavers when you check out, you won’t need to pay for your will.
  4. Follow the step-by-step process on the LawOnline website to complete all sections of your will. Please do give special consideration to the section that allows you to leave a gift to a charity such as Sightsavers.
  5. Once complete, you can download and save your will or print a copy. Once your will has been witnessed and signed by two individuals, it becomes a legal document.

If you have any questions, contact Declan at Sightsavers on 01 6637666 or email [email protected]. Once you have successfully created your online will and have left a gift to Sightsavers, please do let us know.

How we’re helping to change children’s lives

Nadir holds a toy car close to his face to help him see it more clearly.

Nadir’s poor vision

Three-year-old Nadir lives in Bangladesh and was born with cataracts in both eyes. He loves playing with toy cars, but found it difficult to see them.

Nadir is carried into theatre by a surgical nurse.

Cataract surgery

After visiting a free eye care camp and being diagnosed with cataracts, Nadir's parents took him to a hospital for an operation that took just 30 to 40 minutes to restore his sight.

Seeing clearly

A few days after his bandages were removed, Nadir was able to see clearly for the first time in his life. He's lucky: if he hadn’t had surgery in time, his sight may have never fully recovered.
