The Junior Painter Awards 2013/2014

We are delighted to announce the overall winners of Sightsavers’ Junior Painter awards 2013/2014!

National winner: Naoise Clarke-Carr (8) from Ratoath Junior National School, Co. Meath

National runner-up: Ashling Crawte (12) from Ballyduff National School, Co. Wexford

National third place: Elese Doyle (6) from Ballyduff National School, Co. Wexford

Our 15 regional winners gathered at The Science Gallery, Dublin on 25 February 2014 for a fun-filled awards day. The national winners were presented with cash prizes for their schools sponsored by The Irish Times and received hampers and vouchers from Art & Hobby.

Helping to present prizes on the day were Megan Cassidy (RTE presenter), Deirdre Falvey (Education Editor, The Irish Times), Joanne Fitzgerald (Art &Hobby) and Michael Marren (CEO, Sightsavers Ireland).

An exhibition of all 15 finalists was on display to the public in the Powerscourt Gallery, First Floor, Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, Dublin 2 until 14 March 2014.

Cash prizes for the schools of the national winning students were sponsored by The Irish Times. Art & Hobby stores along with Star School Supplies continued their support by donating thousands of euro worth of prizes to all regional and national winners, including art hampers and vouchers.
