Make your will online for free with Sightsavers

Many people now prefer to draft their will online, from the comfort of their own home. We’ve partnered with LawOnline to enable you to do that with ease.

Sightsavers has partnered with LawOnline to offer you a free, confidential and secure will-writing service.

You can choose whether to amend an existing will or create a new will online professionally, all from the comfort of your home.

We would be delighted to help you with this free and innovative online service. And while there is no onus to leave a gift to Sightsavers in your will, any gift in your will – large or small – would be helping those at risk of sight loss and would mean so much to all of us here at Sightsavers.

Watch the video below for more information about the service, then scroll down to find out how to get started on writing your will.

How to make your online will

To use this free will service, you’ll need a special voucher code available from Sightsavers that will enable you to download, save and print a copy of your completed will for free.

  1. Call Sightsavers on 01 6637666 or email [email protected] to request your free online will voucher code. We will send the voucher to you together with information about writing your will and how to use the service.
  2. When you’re ready to begin, simply register as a new user on www.lawonline.ie and then select the will option you want.
  3. Whether you want to make a new will or update an existing one, go to the section on this page titled ‘Choose your will’, and click on the option that matches your chosen will. Or you can go to www.lawonline.ie and click ‘Personal’ in the top bar. Scroll down the list to select the type of will you want.
  4. Click the ‘Add to basket’ option next to your chosen will. The regular price for that option will be displayed, but if you use the free voucher code supplied by Sightsavers when you check out, you won’t need to pay for your will.
  5. You’ll be guided through all the steps you need to take. You can pause and return to your draft at any point before finalising it. Please do give special consideration to the section that allows you to leave a gift to a charity such as Sightsavers.
  6. Once finalised, your will is checked over and you’ll be advised when it is ready to download or to print.
  7. Your will needs to be witnessed and signed by two individuals, after which it becomes a legal document.

If you have any questions, contact Declan at Sightsavers on 01 6637666 or email [email protected]. Once you have successfully created your online will and have left a gift to Sightsavers, please do let us know.

How we’re helping to change children’s lives

A young girl in school uniform stands alone.

Luyando’s poor vision

Luyando was only seven years old, but cataracts were affecting her future. She was missing out at school and vulnerable to isolation and bullying.

Luyando smiles as a health worker removes a bandage from her eyes. She's wearing a blue hospital gown.

Cataract surgery

With help from supporters like you, Luyando had operations on both eyes to remove her cataracts. When her bandages were removed, her life was changed forever.

Seeing clearly

The straightforward procedure has changed Luyando's story. She can now attend school and play with her friends, and she has a world of opportunity ahead of her.
