Rotary Ireland is partnering with Sightsavers Ireland to help fundraise for Sightsavers’ Pakistan Lady Health Worker Programme.

Each Rotary club in Ireland is tasked with raising funds: so far, the clubs have hosted events from table quizzes to supper clubs to raise money for this vital programme.

As part of Sightsavers’ programme, female health workers provide healthcare in the community, helping to reach women and girls living in remote areas that often have no access to healthcare.

The cost to run this Sightsavers project in rural Pakistan is €29,376. It reaches a population of more than 7.5 million people, providing eye health services that enable thousands of women and girls to have their sight restored or saved.

Thanks to the generous support of Rotary Ireland, 1,900 Lady Health Workers will be trained in 2019.
